about
This track was written not long after we made the move to Brisbane and recounts our first impressions on the move to the big smoke together. Some certain neighbours (whom since have been removed) made the transition very interesting and provided much ‘light’ entertainment to get us settled in. * Note: Be weary when borrowing a cup of sugar from the Neighbours.
lyrics
Uptown frown, with a purebred hound
Some kids don’t fit, with a low fi sound
City crust on the suburban cusp
We hear the neighbours cuss
Beds line the wall at the top of hall
Sound escapes across suburban sprawl
You teach me fun under the second sun
Until the day is done
So you move to sunny weather, how’s your 5 degrees
Put on your favourite sweater, and roll up the sleeves
Just a bird on a wire, trying to get a little higher
The beamer spits as we corolla round
My newest threads are from the lost and found
Mysterious man in a white panel van
Sleeps where the strippers tan
The cooks conduct just across the street
Their chopping product like their chopping meat
From a room below where the wild things go
A ways from neon snow
So you move to sunny weather, how’s your 5 degrees
Put on your favourite sweater, and roll up the sleeves
Just a bird on a wire trying to get a get a little higher
